Hybrid Goose Sketch
A big stretch
On the first of January 2025 I decided to start a sketch a day drawing practice.
On the 6th January 2025 I remembered I have a blog which I have forgotten to update forever.
Sometimes life goes like that.
Anyway, yesterday the canal geese were gathered together. A big old haggle of noise, preening, honking, wing stretches and feather nibbling. They didn't look like they wanted to be all together exactly, but no doubt the warmth of many goose bodies on a snowy day beats being alone.
Even so, you could feel that lots of them wanted to be somewhere else already. I thought they looked like substitute footballers, warming up on the sidelines, frustrated that they were not on the pitch.
It appears to me that geese are not patient creatures but they know how to be patient when they need to be.
I will try and remember this next time I am feeling frustrated and in my habitual ‘are we nearly there yet?’ mind set.
And that's the news.
